The Breakfast Room at Skeldale House

By Hurstbourne
23 Kirkgate, Thirsk, North Yorkshire is now a museum but was where Mr. J.A. Wight ran a veterinary practice alongside Mr. D V. Sinclar. Alf Wight is the world-famous author of the famous James Herriot books. This cramped little room is the Breakfast Room where Alf Wight and his family would eat most of their meals whilst listening to the radio and where Joan would sew and knit for all the family. On extreme occasions it was also known to be doubled as an operating theatre.
