the bright side of the moon - last night

By annettep38
Many thanks for you kind comment regarding the dragonfly in the stream Smile
warm regards to Joline and Jenn for the UAs

Richard Mossy Oak uploaded an excellent shot of the moon last year. I was amazed how good it was and thought i had to improve my technique. Well a D800 shines with the hight resolution, suppose a d7100 (TONY!!!! a challenge for you ) would do even better.

so here it is, I wrote the data in the exif . my old TC300 was used (the 2x converter meant for the Nikkor 500mm MF and the 300 2.8) the new tc20b is USELESS!
f11 is not fantastic nor is the d800 viewfinder so here is the cheat: I focussed on the d3x, locked the lens( first time I used this seldom remembered knob) and swapped it over. Good job the lens can stay on the tripod i only swapped the camera.

You have done so well, capturing so much detail on the surface, and that view of the crater "Tycho" in V 2 is superb, Annette.

This is some challenge for me Annette. Smile. All I can see is cloud-cover lately. I wonder if someone would lend me the Hubble telescope. The details on your v2 is superb!!

You'd be a lunartic not to give this image your vote, i'd have been over the moon to have taken this one. Talking of the Chinese, here is an awful joke for you!GrinGrinGrinGrin An Englishman, a Frenchman and a Chinese man went on an airballoon flight around the world. As they looked out over Europe the Englishman pointed to the coastline and the white cliffs of Dover and said ah my beautiful country of England, after crossing the channel the Frenchman pointed to the Normandy coast and said this eez my belle France. Further on their flight across Europe, the chinaman hurled a teacup and saucer that he'd been drinking from out of the airballoon bakset and then shouted ah my beautiful China!!!BlushBlushBlushBlush
