The Buckle

By jamesgrant
An infamous view, the Buckle (Buachaille Etive Mor) last week.

I was up in Scotland and on the first day we decided to test out a wild camp in the snow relatively close to the car, so couldn't think of a much better location than this.

It was tricky getting there, with the A82 already white over but once the car was parked (ditched) we found a suitable pitch spot. It snowed heavily through the night and the tents were well and truly buried by the morning, the road was closed and the single track road we had to go up was inaccessible, thankfully I had my snow socks.

Amazing experience to wild camp in such conditions and was glad to get an image under such deep blanket snow knowing no one else was close by.

A very well observed, composed, exposed and captured landscape with wonderful clarity in depth.
