Continuing on past Käthe Wohlfahrt's Museum, at the far end of Herrngasse you come to the Burgtor or Castle Gate at the western side of the town of Rothenburg and into here, the Burggarten (Castle Gardens). After the original castle which stood on the site of the gardens was destroyed by an earthquake in 1356, the Burgtor was built in the years that followed. I imagine the gardens would look beautiful a bit later in the year when the flowers are in bloom.
