A sight for sore eyes is this! If you're smart you go clockwise and that puts you against the cliff and not teetering on the edges. The big problem is people with those 40 foot rigs (laughingly called "campers") get up there taking up one and a half of the two lanes. Better they're on the outside than me. I do the Cabot Trail usually in October when the leaves have changed - and the tourists have gone home. Oh and stop in Cheticamp for fish and chips!
