Hello Mario

I like the positioning of the Chaplin. Your choice of F9 has bought out the detail in his whiskers and the lace of the Jabot ands sleeves. There is a touch of a catchlight in his eyes and that adds some warmth to the image. A face full of character.
I'm am not sure if the gown is black or a dark grey- it may well be my monitor - if is is supposed to be black it may be worth while tweaking the levels or adjusting the curves. This may help give it a little more separation from the dark part of the back ground.
I have a couple of areas of concern. The triangle of background above the shoulder looks far too bright and secondly there is a black area to the left of the face above the ear level with the eye. If you have been doing a bit of cloning it is best to zoom in to 150% or 200% that way you don't miss anything.

Hi Jacq,

Regarding the black piece behind the ear, that is that piece that they have on there head. At the moment i can't remember what they call it. Regarding the bright triangle i am not sure honestly if it should be improved. I agree that i have to zoom to 150 or 200 when working.

Thanks for your constructive critique.

Mario

I just suggest a slight crop on the left...

Continuing lovely work in this series.

Hi
with reference to the triangle-try the burn tool in photoshop. Set it to a low opacity and midtones setting - it won't need much .

This is really good Mario.

The base shot of the Chaplin is good and the background first class. Very good detail with a slow shutter speed.

I made some very minor tweaks; I understand that the darker appearance is what you favour, so its much like the original.

The black vestment is black, and there are lighter and darker shades due to the light.

That triangle may be more of a bother if you are viewing on a monitor that too bright, and not calibrated, - which would also tend to make the black appear not quite black. It is slightly brighter, and the texture is different, so its not a big deal to replace it with another part of the wall with less texture.

Strangely for me, I find it a little too warm, so the mod is slightly less warm.

Eyes slightly brighter, that ring brighter, and the vignette lightened a little.

See what you think

Very nice. I would just leave it alone. Any tweaks arw rwlevant but personal. I like the warm effect. Strange, I always thought Canon images tended to warm, Nikon to cool, but depends on processing of course.
