The Chase

The chase is on, the Hippo running for the sefety of the river with the pride trying to slow it down. The Lionesses can't take down an animal this large they can only hope to tire him out.
On this occation they give up after a chase of aprox 400m.
The Hippo got away and will not stray this far from the river again.
We were very lucky to see this and the escape made it more enjoyable. Didn't know how to present then so I decided to put them together again. Hope you like it.

Exciting times when on safari, capturing nature at first hand. Having been their I know it's hard keeping the viewfinder pressed against your face with so much going on around you.

Anyway nice sequence...

Very well presented sequence with a happy ending. Nature in the RAW so to speak. Very well taken & put together.. Must have been very exciting to have actually been there. Cracking image. PhilG

Well captured sequence. It must have have been fantastic to watch. I find the jagged framing of the images a little distracting but other a cracking set of images.

Know what you mean Victor, I'm glad it was a thick skinned Hippo that got away and not something smaller.
Thanks for the comments..
