Hi everyone
There’s a story in this image! 😉 The stag was lying at the side of the path being photographed by two guys with ‘serious’ equipment. People were walking past not realising he was there. He lifted his head a few times then lay down again. I actually thought he wasn’t well. How wrong was I ! He eventually stood up, sniffed, bellowed and saw his lady. Then he was off. He chased her round a tree a couple of times before she bolted in my direction. Fortunately she veered towards the bracken side of the tree I was hiding behind rather than the lake side. The stag chased the doe up to the car park where he stuck his horns into a tree before chasing after her again.
Funnily enough I was hiding behind the same tree as I was when I took the dog chasing images. My friend was standing at the lake edge, terrified and ready to jump in. There was a lady breastfeeding her 4mth old daughter sitting on the bench who calmly said, ‘Well that was interesting.’ It’s amazing how you can get caught up in something so quickly as I was a good distance away until the doe bolted towards me. A couple of the images aren’t exactly sharp as I thought I’d better hide rather than be trampled. 😉😉😉😉 I hope I haven’t offended anyone with one of the images. I didn’t notice what I was taking at the time. I was too busy looking at his antlers!
Thank you so much for the votes and kind images on my cormorant and to Alan (af1),
Ian (Mac) and Rich (woodini254) for their precious UAs. I really appreciate you all.
Have a great Sunday.
Take care
Karen
