The colour blue part 2

By mrswoolybill
A metal cable viewed from both sides. I prefer the main upload. Dunston Staiths again.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

More comfortable with the direction in the lead one...It is proved, but can you find an answer why it happens...

I'm still pondering.
A rightward leaning diagonal? More optimistic, dynamic?
Thanks early birds. I'm exploring colour this week, b&w normality will resume shortly.

I wonder if it's part psychological...if you had loaded the version as lead would that have swayed opinion?

OR.....the lead has the lighter area at the top of the image...the natural state of things (as in the sky)??

Thanks Somnath for the link, that's an interesting article, I've bookmarked it. It's something that we have discussed a lot. It works but I also like the edginess of images that operate in reverse, they jolt the brain...

As with yesterday's image, the bold colour dominating the rhs seems more natural to my eye/brain, so the lead image for me, too.

The dof is much tighter than the cable, Moira.

The main image does work better Moira.
After careful observation of both images, I noticed
that in the version the eye is drawn between the lighter
loop of cable and the loose one. In the main image
the eye is drawn more to the loose loop of cable.
Perhaps that's why the lead image works better.
Just a thought.

None for me.

I would prefer the loop positioned upwards. Either way!

It works for reflections, I'm not sure that steel defies gravity with such ease.

Gravity may make sense but the upward loop is the perfect position to visually satisfy the expression which says: "You are winding me UP!", haha
No pun intended.

An image I would have expected Mickbee to have had a keen interest, I wonder what happened to him.

is it paint-- rust proffer, or something the sea water does to cables?

I like color combination and shapes-- either version works for me!
