The Colour of Pearls

By Acancarter
These shots were taken using a multicolour programmable LED illuminator I've been working on. This has 8 30W LEDs, two each of R, G, B and white. Here they have been switched on for 1/1000s in different colour sequences (and RGB combinations). There is a picture of the business end of the illuminator in the version tab with some comments. If you are interested in hearing more on this, please message me and I will write something in the blog.

I showed one or two of these images and the illuminator at our Camera Club meeting last night, and we had a good discussion. Was this a solution looking for a problem or something that could be very creative in capturing movement? Undecided for now, but good fun making this!

Thank you for all the votes and comments yesterday - much appreciated!

It's not something everyone will be doing, Andy - you keep finding new and intriguing ways to put science and engineering at the service of art...
