The Concorde Experience

By mac
A visit to the National Museum of Flight is Scotland's national aviation museum, at East Fortune Airfield, just south of the village of East Fortune, and about 6 miles from North Berwick. This is now the home of ¬“The Concorde Experience¬”
My first impression was the actual size of the plane but when you went inside it was quite claustrophobic compared to newer aircraft and not much headroom. An attendant was telling me that original plans did not include windows but later it was decided to fit them. The resulting windows are very small. V5 is the First Class Section of Concorde. V7 The Pilots area with plenty of dials to watch!

Yes, indeed, very interesting. I saw Concorde in flight, and have seen one at Duxford, but the 'Experience' seems a more complete display.

The first aeroplane I flew on was a Sud Aviation Caravelle - as Concorde first appeared as the Super Caravelle, it's perhaps not surprising that the two are about about as roomy as each other. Plush seats, though!
