THE CREME - DE - LA - CREME

By hobbo
One of my shooting buddies is an ex-pro, who takes time to teach me as much as he can, as an ex-Hassleblad man.

A couple of years ago, he switched from his pro-Nikon dslr to a used Leica Q .....a huge learning curve for him that has rubbed off on me, because I regularly use vintage lenses on my LUMIX GX 8 ....meaning that we are both focussing and shooting manualy.

Less than a month ago he treated himself to this, year old Leica M 10.....a very beautifully crafted bit of kit....heavy....yes! ..... But a pleasure to hold and to use.

I daren’t ask how much it or the lens cost.....but during his long lifetime of hard work he deserves it.

That is only a very old lens hood....plus a fairly old Summicron lens.....the camera body is just over a year old as far as I know.

“Leica, schmeica. The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But you have to see.”

Zeiss Planar not Leica lens here, a great piece of kit. One up on the Olympus Trip 👍 Very nice.

The camera does not alone make a great image the trick is seeing the image and the getting the camera to record it, having said that it must nice to buy into a legend

I think that Planar maybe better than Tessar & Pancolar (I have them from EXAKTA time and I use them on Canon dslr), but the combination of Planar and a Leica digital body, I think is the "must have" of an "old style" photographer, Hobbo! But too expensive...
