The Dark Hedges at Dark

By Johnnybairdphotography
An aurora hunt cut short by fog naturally led on to a location that works well in eerie fog the infamous Dark Hedges. With dogs howling in the background, strange sounds and fog blanketing the land it was an atmospheric stop off. I love visiting the here at night when stillness sweeps these trees, not often experienced during the day. Luckily I got this shot on the first take, but I would have loved to have got another shot using a longer lens for a bit more intimacy and compression. Of course I had decided to only bring a wide lens for aurora photography, with the rest of the kit sitting at home. Note to self - bring everything, leave nothing. Ill never learn.
