The Empty Shell

By helenlinda
During the afternoon I felt that I needed to plant seeds.
This was not only because we are very behind with the garden, but it was also as an act of faith.
As I pushed them into the ground, my thoughts were with a friend who was coming to the end of her life, and of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.
Like a seed, "the body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable, it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory, it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power, it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body".[1 Corinthians 15v 42,43 and 44]
She died while I planted the seeds, and all that is left here now is the empty shell.
But the memories of her past life are not the only thing we have.
Thanks for looking

And I am thinking of TS Eliot, 'In my end is my beginning'. Written during the darkest days of WW2. My deepest sympathy on your loss.
