The Eye of the Poppy

Many thanks to those who appreciated my last upload. I am grateful.

This is a variety of field poppy (papaver rhoeas) called 'Shirley' now flowering in my garden. They are all different, but this one has a white centre and orange/red edge. I didn't see the 'eye' until I looked at the shot on the computer Smile

Yes. Definitely an eye....with an eyelid! You're lucky to have them growing in your garden. We just get the common yellow and orange ones. It's a lovely photo. My award.
