The Floral Walk

By LynneJoyce
Before I dig too dig too deep into the archives, a little more recent nostalgia, photographs from where I used to walk the dogs with Garrath and where, until I am off these blasted crutches, he now walks them alone. These were taken in mid June when the roses were at their showiest.

The dayglo red ones really are that sock-you-in-the eye colour, on a huge bush in a bungalow garden that hangs way over the fence. It is a prolific flowerer from May onwards. The pink floribunda starts flowering much later. I love the way that it produces flowers that start as deepest rose buds progressing to pale pink just before the petals fall.

Anyway, here is my nostalgia post for when I used to be able to walk the dogs. Thanks for looking and I hope that you enjoy at least some of them.

A superb collection which has certainly brightened what has been a dull day, Lynne!
I particularly like Red 12 - but it is my favourite colour!!
Hope you will be back in the land of the walking unaided soon!!

Wot ! Only 15 tonight !.......WinkWinkWink.
But a really beautiful archive of roses from your walk: seems iniquitous to single any one out but if I were pushed my favourites would be V 11 closely followed by V 14.
But I'd be happy with any of them in my portfolio, Lynne.
You'll soon be out there again with the camera, I feel sure, knowing your positive attitude.
All the very best to you and Garrath.

I do believe in the Guinness Book of Records Lynne,
the world record for a marathon by a guy on crutches is 6 hours 47 minutes.
Not too bad at all I reckon !!
I am not suggesting you do that but just get back to fitness to walk the dogs.
Another fine marathon set from you.

Well it seems everybody likes different if not all your wonderful flower images Lynne.
Likewise each one has photographic merit and I never overlook your lovely framing.
I did like V9 - think I just like pink and green combination
and also V10 for your framing and border - I like the way you sometimes have different colours on different sides
depending on the original image.
Glad you managed to upload at all and I do hope you're not in too much pain.
the frustration of not getting about will be worst of all.
Time will heal.

I looked through all of them several times to see which one stood out for me, but I could not decide, they are all so good. I love the way you integrate the frame into the image so that it is part of the visual experience, Lynne - I am in awe again.

Lynne, this is a wonderful set...all of them beautiful, and wonderfully presented. Clearly, you have way too much time on your hands to do this. You had better get walking again soon---to our detriment.
