The Giant's Head - Lost Gardens of Heligan

By Irishkate
We booked in advance as everybody has to these days for various places - choose what looked like the best day for weather and of course it rained on our visit.
Nonetheless a visit to The Lost Gardens of Heligan was well worth a visit.
Many thanks for V&C and surprise User Awards for The Blacksmith.
I've failed miserably to take images like this in the past!
Version will explain more about this sculpture.

I watched a tV programme some years back about these gardens but have never visited: hope you enjoyed the visit despite the weather, and good to come home with some fine but spooky images.

We are watching you so do not try to pick any of the flowers!! His hair could do with a prune. Quite a good use of the ground contours to produce something special.

Every time my crocosmia blooms I remember the giant's head at Heligan. It's amazing what a pair of eyes can do!

Great capture, when we went a few years ago he only had grass for his hair, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Thank you for posting the story in the version Kate. It's good to know they thought it through so well. In the lead he looks like a happy giant which is always good.
