The Gift

By JasonC
Taken a few weeks ago on the Northscape weekend.

I really love this picture. Printed out it looks really amazing.

I love being able to nearly see all that is in the Gift & Toy shop window and looking in at the empty arm chair in the one window.

Click to view it large and then press F11.

Thanks to Scott for his assistance in Photoshop and Capture One and for using up a whole lot his ink on printing it out for me. Smile

This is actually a very good image .. i would have raised the camera slightly to provide a clearer definition between the sets of railings, but the exposures well done, kept the light under control and the slightly blurred people add a little extra detail.

Good high viewpoint, gives a great impression of the steepness of the convoluted streets. Nice low light exposure too.

Looks good here too!! Loads to look at, like the comp, light, exposure and the bonus of that couple.

A wonderful perspective, even better viewed large! I like the cleaness (if there is such a word) of the shot, and the people give that added extra. Good shot.

What a pleasant change from the usual angle this is. Nicely taken and presented.

Hello,

I like the lines in this photo and the curve of the stairs. And I like the texture of the street and the rooftops. And I like the light. Personally, I'm not a fan of blurred people but other people seem to like that detail and they do give the piece a sense of movement.
So glad I don't have to climb those stairs! Good job. Maria

Thank you all for your comments.

Karen - I know what you mean about the image looking clean. I am unsure what gives it this appearance but it works.
