I like taking my camera to these events. It saves me having to dance with the Missus!!! Good exposures here Moira.I always find the lighting a bit ''tricky'' at these functions. The flash seems to have coped well.Would you believe I have never used mines yet.A good set here and I will investigate the effects of soiled towels on the life span of wire mesh baskets in relationship to the ageing and rusting effect of said basket.Or perhaps I will take up a new hobby!!!!!!

Thank you everyone! Ladies, I'm afraid I mainly ignored James after these, he was posing like mad and I refuse to pander to the male ego! But I have loads more of Robert the melodion player.
Mick - The stage lighting was tricky, there's an awful lot of pink in some of these, but to me that's part of the atmosphere.
It's the first real use I've made of the flash and I was very impressed, these came out a lot better than I expected.
Anyway, you're going to be seeing these for the next week or more...

This first shot of James is a really good one and the pick of the bunch imo. To comment on some of the comments above, I personally like subjects who pose when you point a camera at them; it's the ones who stiffen up that are hard to photograph. Fossiler's comment about 'the gent in the glasses' not being happy raised a smile if not a 'lol' from me! John
