The Great Torii 0f Miyajima

Miyajima Island is located south of Hiroshima and is the home of Itsukushima Shrine with the great Torii dating from 1168 representing the boundary between the spirit and the human worlds located about 200m off shore.

It is one of a number of World Heritage sites in Japan
