The Guildhall

By TrevBatWCC
The Guildhall in Derby looks impressive with its elegant clock tower dominating the skyline, and stands facing the Market Place. It was re-built in 1841 by Henry Duesbury, following a fire. The former council chamber with its elaborately plastered ceiling is now occupied by a small theatre.

Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Your pov gives a lovely balanced composition, Trev, from the clocktower you follow the building line down the road to the vanishing point. Very nicely done, and processed.

Your processing is most suitable to architectural images and proves so once again here. A well-balanced image making good use of perspective; the streaks of cloud in the sky encourage the eye into and along the street view.
Nicely done!

Very you Trevor. My images of the same place at the same time don't look a bit like this, but I don't have Photomatix.

My compliments, Trev...you manage to make Derby look inviting. Must be the power of the software you useTongue
Your processing techniques are particularly suited to architecture on overcast days, it brings out the best of the details.
