The juxtaposition of those seated and enjoying a cup of tea or coffee alfresco with the man who sits on the pavement with a cup that is for collecting loose change from passersby underlines one of society's great divides. The faded paint of the phone kiosk reflects the beggar's faded fortunes. Taken on Edinburgh's Royal Mile with a Sony RX100 iii from a doorway so as not to intrude into the man's personal space.
