The henge at night

When is a henge not a henge?
According to Mr Fry, apparently when it is made of stone and planted in Wiltshire. Apparently it has something to do with Woolworths, but he lost me in a storm of self righteous indignation.

So here is yet another picture of the henge that gave its name to all other henges without actually being a henge itself!

I really expect this to not do so well, it is dark and an often taken subject. However this was taken last night at 10:00 on a 2, 4 and 8 minute exposure, merged in Photomatix with the sky overlaid from a single exposure.

For all the glory that is Orion's belt (well some of it) go large and fiddle with your monitor settings till they match mine!!!!

Enjoy, and please comment as I am not sure if this really is too dark to work.

It gives a new perspective to the Stone Circle in Wiltshire. Mr Fry would loose most people but I love this place (I don't like paying so much to get in and it has become a cash cow for English Heritage) and this is a wonderful image of it capturing the sky above it so well. A very nice, new, interpretation of a place that has probably been photographed 10 million times before. Very well thought out and captured Jon. Grin
