The Henge has flooded!

Thanks to all those who voted and commented on yesterday's upload of the Dunraven Henge. Here's a follow up image just as the sea reclaimed the beach. Hoped to keep in the same spot but the soft sand was easily washed away taking the tripod with it so a quick retreat was needed to a firmer spot. Catching the swirls was a bonus.

Lovely insights into our ancestors here, and a fine image. What is the story behind this wee Henge? Shades of the Neolithic tree Henge in Norfolk, sited on the beach there.

It was more or less to do with yesterday's upload. The same pebble circle, no doubt placed there by children, caught the setting sun almost perfectly. It's my skewed sense of humour. The only link to druids and henges on this beach is that a couple of episodes of Sky's Britannia series was filmed there. The southern cost of Glamorgan does have a lot of prehistoric sites from hillforts to burial chambers.
