The Household Gods

By cbrundage
Kellie (St. Kelert of Wales) and Raddie (Radagast the Brown) asleep. It was such a cute pose I had to get it!
(If you want to think that is where I live, that's OK!)

Thanks to fellow animal lover, Dave, for the UA. And thank you also to Eileen for the UA.

Here you may have created an original template standard for fine art. Seems this could be a standard in the mists of fine art history already, yet my memory may be in error. In that case your version is the original and you set an excellent standard. A masterworks image. TG

I am not sure what you're thinking of, Tony? I used a free stock photo of a stately home and manipulated it to look like that and I put a photo of the sky in back of that. Then I added the light ray and did that little frame around it. The cats I put through a filter to look like a painting and and then lowered the opacity on that. But I thank you very much for the kind and thoughtful comment I always like doing something with pictures of my cats and try not to inflict them on everybody too often.

Working in a fine arts business in Montreal when young, I seem to recall a famous work of two facing subjects just like this. Long time ago and I can't remember all the works clearly. What if it was of two Egyptian lions? So you have set the form for cat lords in that case. TG

OK - I get it now. It must be a coincidence because this is how my cats were lying on the bed and they did look like bookends or facing statues.

Now I'm curious. I did several searches and found all sorts of fascinating photos and art and even tried uploading my picture to Google Images to see if there was something similar but couldn't find anything.

The Raleigh Sphinx(es), Christina, what a delightful image you've made of them here. Kellie's stretched out paw is an almost 'You shall not enter beyond this point' Wink Wonderful artwork.

Thanks, Bill and Jenn - I do love my cats. I grew up with always two cats and have kept that up, so I haven't ever lived without them.

Beautifully created image, a modern life in a classical environment... Yes, it does look like sphinx... I like the angle that you took the photo. Do they sleep like this a lot? How lovely.
