And house cats have instincts of both predator and prey animals....they know that bigger animals will catch and kill them.....we get foxes in our "yard"...the parking lot and playing fields of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf...one of them last year scared our Maine Coon Cat, Moose up a tree...and then with the branches all facing up...he could not get down. I ended up backing my van under the tree...and my step-son Isaac got on top and took him out of the tree. He ran off the top...scared....less....you get the idea.
