The Hunting Lodge, Hamilton.

By Tooma
This was the hunting lodge at Chatelherault, Hamilton, in South Lanarkshire, of the former Dukes of Hamilton. It linked directly with the very large, and very grand, Hamilton Palace by a wide tree lined avenue, about a mile and a half long, and it is believed some of the trees in my shot were originally part of it.

The Lodge was taken over by Hamilton Town Council in the 80s, who did a fine job to renovate and restore it, and it has been a popular destination since then. The High Parks in which it is sited are a favourite area to walk in and enjoy, for a lot of people, including my wife and I.
