The Iron man.

By franken
Taken in Oxford.

It's a creation of Antony Gormley.

ps, I'm quite pleased with this as just after taking it I discovered that there was a smudge on the lens and that resulted with some flare on a few of my pics.

Certain parts of these islands are being overrun, Ken. At least this one doesn't have wings Smile
Superb use of the pov and of monochrome. The modern brutality of the building adds to the impression of strength of the figure.

I'd be pleased with this. Loneliness, isolation, fear of insignificance, of ageing... Gormley's figures are saying more and more for me as they and I get older.
Great POV.. We have had same Gormley installations here on the Channel Islands. Like the grainy textures..

He looks like he's contemplating jumping! These installations certainly appear in some strange places.

Perfect cloud bg behind the figure, Ken. Did you have to wait long for that cloud to come along?

I was surprised to see where it was placed.
I read that "it will be on one of the least attractive buildings in Broad Street".
I suppose the hope is that it will improve the look of the shop.
