The Logging Sluices

These very basic floating huts were the homes for logging workers on the river Glomma at Fetsund. This is where the felled trees from the surrounding forests were floated downstream to the local mills. Logs were tied together into rafts and floated here for sorting and grading before going to the mills.
Thought the b&w convertion reflected the primitive conditions the workers must have experienced.

Your B and W conversion seems to suit the prevailing light and subject matter so well, Malc: love the light catching on the f/g Timbered walkway.

wonderful detail malc super tones and textures works so well in mono a belter nice one Wink
Great tonal contrasts in this image.. Very atmospheric mono which suits the subject matter.
Why is there a face in the bottom right of the image?
( my hair survived the F8 gusts thanks) ! Wink

I saw the face Michaela saw too!! When I saw the thumbnail I was keen to get the image up on screen and it hasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere and composition and the mono is perfect!

not afraid to get their hands dirty,
and did a hard days graft for their money !!

Well, I've never met Mick, but have to honestly say he is not the subject of my I hope I don't start having nightmares about him appearing in my dreams...that would be weird!
