The long and dusty road.....

By paulbroad
Out on the cliff top between Hornsea and Skipsea in Yorkshire. Corn fields, sun and no ice cream stalls or amusements. Loverly!

EOS 7D with 18/250 Sigma OS at 250mm. Monopod. ISO200. 1/800 @ f8 on aperture priority. The standard exposure for bright sun in the UK.

A good image Paul, however I do feel that the subjects are too near. A longer shot would for me have been far better and thus in turn more appealing. As for modifications other tan straightening out the horizon ever so slightly there is nothing one would alter.

Nice image Paul. I agree with Nathan though about the people.

I like this a lot, Paul. It's good to show the cycle track going off into the distance, and your subjects are nice and sharp. The other things that appeal to me are the girls' spotted dresses being alike, and yet different colours. Also, I don't know how you managed it, but all of the right feet are in the downward pedal mode. Three is a perfect number for a composition, and each person is a different size. They are also spread across the frame rather than being bunched up together. Can't really fault it.

Position of feet pure luck, and hadn't noticed but was a good thing. The curved horizon is actually like that. Sea is about a hundred metres to the right with those rapidly eroding Holderness clay cliffs.
