The Long Climb

By chase
I took stuff into my garage yesterday, the light was right and I could control it by shutting the door to.
There were plenty of huge Spiders running around !!

A 3 frame HDR image, lit by available daylight, a piece of white card to camera right just to reflect a little light back onto my subjects. Combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop with a bit of faffing.

I have included a B&W version as I couldn't make my mind up which one to lead with but, the colours of the old wooden bricks and the Clown did it for me.

Thanks for dropping in.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.
Janet xx

Noooo - huge spiders still running around at this time of year! And there was me thinking it was safe to go into the garage at the moment. Grin Glad you survived to take yet another super shot. I don't fancy his chances though.

Love both version, but I find the face of the scale dominates the B&W, so pick the colour as my favourite and it made me Smile

Colour for me too Janet - I think the impact of the clown is lost in mono. 🤡

Love those old scales! A fine arrangement with some nice faffing, Janet 😃 Have to agree with the above comments, the face of the scale does dominate in mono and the clown & bricks are lost too, so has to be colour for me! 👍🏻

Colour for me because the colours are great, so vintage looking.
That clown is giving it is best shot to get weighed......

I join the caucus for the colour, being slightly muted makes the whole work.

Will he be able to read his weight if and when he eventually makes it to the top? Buying bathroom scales has to be a n easier option.Wink
As for the versions...I do like both, but me being me, the mono just scrapes ahead...

Your garage sounds like a wonderful place, Janet.
Apart from the spiders, that is: they are scarier than the scariest clown, and that's just the l little ones 😱😱😱
Love this series, mind 😀

Thanks everyone.
Malc he never did make it to the top, lack of oxygen and a nose bleed at such heights forced a mountain rescue Wink

Brilliant! Definitely the muted colour for me. It seems to work with the old fashioned scales. You're so good at coming up with creative ideas Smile

Mono for me Janet. Love the muted colours but have a morbid fear of clowns, started well before Stephen King decided to throw in his contribution! Mono is less scary and takes on a different energy.

It made me smile, nice idea for the shot, the colours of the wooden bricks and the clown are very complementary, so i too prefer the lead one here...
Colour for me.
