The Mermaid's Tresses

Many thanks to those who commented or voted on my recent mangrove forest shot; it's much appreciated.
Today, back on home turf, or sand, to be precise. Walking along the beach, I came across this rivulet running across the wet sand. It's action in cutting away layers revealed darker sand beneath and made this pattern, which caught my eye.
