The Miracle of Birth

By teocali
On a great trip to Donna Nook last week, Mike(Greyheron) and I were lucky enough to witness the birth of an Atlantic Grey Seal pup (Halichoerus grypus), which took place only a few feet away from the viewing area. There was a bitterly cold North wind blowing and one cannot but wonder why nature dictates that these initially fragile little creatures are born on a desolate, windswept beach in November and December! This is a full frame capture.

My thanks to you all for your support of my last upload with special thanks to Cathy(Holmewood) and Norman(Lynks) for their User Awards. All very much appreciated Smile

You certainly had the better angle of the birth than I did - fabulous shot Sylvia…can't get the images of the seals out of my head - that's not a bad thing though Grin
