The Monastery on the Island of Mallorca is still inhabited; the people of Mallorca can book to stay here as a retreat for meditation and contemplation.

This Monastery houses a statue of Madonna, which, as the story was told was found at the site of the Monastery prior to it being built. The statue was taken to another location where they were going to build the Monastery, but the statue disappeared; after much searching the statue was found at it's original location. This sequence of events took place several times, until it was realised that the Statue wanted to remain in the location it was originally found in the mountains. Hence, the Monastery was built where the Statue of the Madonna was originally discovered.

V2 is the domed ceiling of the Monastery and V3 is the Statue of the Madonna.

The external structure of the Monastery I found to be very unremarkable and was very surprised at the splendor of the inside.

I must apologise for the lack of quality of these images; I was in some pain at the time. Despite the lack of quality I thought you might enjoy the delights of this Monastery.
