The Moody Clyde...

By Scottishlandscapes
...stormy weather has had me out with the 10x stopper filter. A 30 second exposure turned the sea into silver as holes in the clouds painted the moving water with light. A lone seagull sat motionless for the 30 secs. Taken yesterday before this storm really got going.

Fabulous light and I just 10 stop stuff Dougie...colour n detail in those foreground rocks is excellent and I just love that zig zag shadow under the rocks on the LHS. was when 4 dogs became three - they were awaiting his imminent return with the ball Wink

Must save up for a big stopper, this is the reason why, Dougie. Love the mood. ( bet it might be somewhat choppy later on today )

Was that seagull stuffed? A great image. I read a comment from the Bella Jane Boat Trips on Skye this morning and they say that they are not now being hit by the storm but its going further south... hope you are all batoned down where you are Smile
I still wouldn't like to go across Loch Scavaig in a rib today Jeanie.

The calm before the storm Dougie Grin. A most beautiful and certainly moody looking shot. Moira

Very moody indeed; threatening, even. Impeccable composition, but the light is the real subject I think.
Today's forecast suggest you can expect the storms to be very severe indeed. I owe the library build a visit this week but I'll wait for the gusts to die down - I'd rather avoid the inevitable dust if at all possible.

I don't think that 10 stopper would work today Dougie but at least it's blowing the cobwebs away.A superb image including just enough of the water.

That's a beautiful line of light in the distance towards the left Dougie. This is an image with a great feeling of depth.

Wonderful colours, the red rocks make a fine contrast to the dark sky and the slightly milky water, which adds to the general modiness of the day. Very nice, yes.
