The Moth (revisited)

By chase
A while ago I posted this image and several peeps asked to see the 'unpainted' version.
So, I have revisited, no paint effect but a little lift to the shadows.

I do like the negative space on the right and the effect of the light on the metal bits.
A 3 frame HDR image, each 1 stop apart combined in Lightroom, tidied up and faffed with in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking at the revisited version.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.
Stay safe.

I liked the "painterly" version but I have to say I like this better, perhaps because of the stronger lines.....!!

Such a clever composition, with the three matched 45 degree angles of the handles (sorry - don't know what all the implements are!). Agree with you about the negative space - draws the eye in to the detail until you finally see the moth. The light is something else - subtle but enough shadow to pick out the detail. Great work.

Prefer this one Janet. It's a great comp and in that light the clarity is superb.

I don't think I saw your earlier version, but this is very good Janet. Clearly a lot of thought went into the set up.
