The Mushroom

View of the roof of the remnants a Mushroom (otherwise known as the F.C. Construction Type or Oakington” & “Fairlop”) Pillbox on the edge of the former RAF Clyffe Pypard in Wiltshire.

RAF Clyffe Pypard was opened in 1941 with grass runways about 1300 yards long and temporary accommodation under RAF Flying Training Command and closed in 1947.
