Thanks Alan, that's cornered the market in musical jokes for today.

I hope these comments of mine don't make you a bit crotchety. I'm just trying to raise the bar.

an excellent fisheye shot, beautiful tonal work and perfect framing
i did some quick research for musician gravestones - most of them are inexpressive or downright tasteless with some weird exceptions like this one here .. not much is known about the musician, actor and architect, Fernand Arbelot, however, he has left quite a legacy in the form of a very unique tomb, located in Paris' Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

I suppose you are blowing your own trumpet with this one, and will no doubt state that you didn't have to fiddle too much with the image in post processing. I will stop now, I've harped on long enough...my ear trumpet needs de-waxing and I must go on social media to drum up some likes.

Cue cacophony of groans...

The fish-eye works well here, with not too much bending of the verticals.

Malc has pulled out all the stops. (Groans inwardly....) And Leo, that's a lovely link. We have visited Père Lachaise many times but have never seen M. Arbelot.
Thanks everyone, and special thanks to Leo and Alfie for the UAs.

PS I do know the 'musicians' corner' in the Alexander Nevsky cemetery in St Petersburg, Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov etc all close together. Borodin has several bars from Prince Igor on his headstone.

Took some of my very earliest digital photos here! I was on a coach holiday to Scotland way back in March 2002, and we stayed at the Waverley Hotel in Melrose. Think it was my first time in Moffat, too. A fine composition and capture, Moira, suits the fisheye 😃👍
