The nightly visitor - Micronycteris schmidtorum

By annettep38
Many thanks for all the comments on 2 versions of the rock.
Although I like the colour one, the black abnd white one is my personal preference for the tones and the spirit. It is a very lonely place.

Here is the reason why the little bathroom in the workshop is always littered with butterfly wings. there is a couple living there and at last I got them with my camera.

The light is a mix of my little flash and one dim light bulb that I used to focus, so AF was impossible.

Of course I leave them alone. Visitor wonder about the mouse droppings on the carton that protects the loo and the loo floor .

Prabhas is right about the diseases, but here in the higher areas they aren't too bad. I was bitten once when I caught one in the kitchen like I do with hummingbirds and flutterbies to help him back into freedom. Used a lot of the red desinfectant and I was fine.

That's different!
We're not allowed to expel bats here.
5k per bat fine I seem to remember.
Great shot, Annette.

The odd garden spider or a garden slug is as exciting as it gets... TongueTongueTongue

A wonderful visitor, Annette, I've only seen bats on the wing, and never 'perched' anywhere.

Nice. Many people here in Canada use bat boxes to attract them to their gardens as they are terrific for controlling mosquitoes and other pesky critters.

I adore Bats and this one is a beauty, beautifully captured of course. They eat mosquitoes and any creature that does that is OK by me.
