The Old Police Station, Princetown

By TrevBatWCC
Had a great holiday last week in Devon, despite the changeable weather; one minute it was glorious summer sunshine, the next wet, wintery and dismal, then back to sunshine again 😎☔ At least we did have a good amount of sunshine during our stay - the forecast for this week was for rain all week 😬
The first coach outing took us to the village of Princetown, then onto Plymouth - Princetown being in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Here at the café which was in a previous life the Old Police Station, we had included in the trip a Devon cream tea, comprising of delicious scones with clotted cream, jam plus tea or coffee! 😋

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 👍

The version for me, it becomes more personal and approachable with the Silent Soldiers.

The version for me too....the poppies are in both, the soldiers add a bit extra, and the cross is separated and more visible.

Wot he said, Trev.
Looks like a well-kept location - local pride in their surroundings...

I'm going with the prevailing trend - it's the version for me for all the reasons given above! I think the second shot has a lovely balance; I like the way the cross is set against the sky and the distant landscape. Smile

A reminder how fortunate we are to be enjoying cream teas and the freedom to travel
whilst those young men died before experiencing much of life.

Two well composed images Trev, never think about the cholesterol levels when tempted with a Devon cream tea, and always jam first......WinkWink

I believe in Devon it's clotted cream first, then jam on top - in Cornwall it's jam first, then cream!

Two excellent compositions and captures, Trev.
I could eat a scone or two right now!!
I think Cornwall's method is the better one!!WinkWink
