I was quite expecting to see Capt Mainwaring and his lads marching into view. A super shot with a nostalgic feel. Unusually, I slightly prefer the colour, because it brings out the old railway items, such as the cream signal box, which tend to merge into the overall scene more in the b&w.

A very lovely capture and presentation, James 👍 The scene really does suit the mono conversion, but I do like the warm tones in the colour version, and as Allan says, colour does draw the eye to the railway features. Really can't choose between the two, so it's half a vote for each! 😃

Went to Bideford once, when I was 16, for the Southern Coastal Rowing Association championships. A weekend of competitive rowing (coxed fours) and a lot of beer was involved...
Never got to see much of the town, so a new view for me.Wink
