The Old Theatrical

By lifesnapper
Hi everyone, hope you're having a good Week.
Thanks to all who voted and your kind comments on 'Love Is'Smile
And now for someone a little older than in my usual uploads, this is a character that I photographed in Rochester a couple of Months back. I thought the title rather fitting. V2 is not the same image, but tried a mono, just for the hell of it Smile

All the best to all,

John Smile

Yes, I agree. Very nice character study. Good job of handling that harsh sun. Nicely done.

Ultimately I suppose the colour is better - but having said that, the costume and accoutrements are from an age when all photography would have been monochromatic so V2 would be entirely appropriate. The handsome smile works perfectly in both versions!

Of course, we often expect our Victorian ladies to look a little sepia, so I've posted a sepia mod Smile

Hello ducky! was my first thought on seeing this, John. The detail of the colour version is more suited, I feel. Well I think so anyway.

A superb character study it is the colour version for me too. When I saw the title I thought this would be a self portrait!Wink

Both interesting portrait shots John, but I think the mono takes it for me

Looks like a great character ready for a good old fashion knees up!
Great portraits and V1 I find more appealing for the vibrant colours of the hat and lipstick.
Good work. IB

Enjoyed viewing the mono - but in this case the colour version winís for me. Both work well, but given a title of - The Old Theatrical Ė the colour version brings out the old best in the face. A street portrait not to walk past without getting a shot. Smashing.
