The Original

By johnnyboy114
This was taken in Florence.....I had been on the lookout for an original of these for ages (I love 'em!), but they were SO thin on the ground....I think I saw about 10 the whole time we were out there....very poor. But this worked just so well....I love the bloke on the phone with the really old car....lovely little thing!

Yes, very tasty Johnny! It works so well sandwiched between two black modern cars as well! The guy on the phone is perfect for the injection of human interest and the 'Mobilmoda' shop behind suitably named.
My Italian is not so good, I'm presuming it is a mobile phone shop!
Not asking as many questions as yesterdays 'mysterious' lady, but very Italian all the same!

Very Italian indeed!!! Great use of the bloke on the phone. Nailed again I'd say.

Ha ha....totally see where you are coming from with that Andrew...I like your image because of the angle, but the idea is the same. Like it and glad you like mine. Cheers! Smile

The red really pops and the angle of shot shouts out advertising image - in fact this could be an advertisement. You've made Topolino the star of the show, all else is subservient. Fine job.

love he way the redness of the car stands out against the lack of colour around it. personally i would've waited til the fella was out of shot, but that's me. this would look great if you played around in p/s kept the colour with the rest of the pic mono???

Thank you guys.....I waited there for about 10mins and he looked at me at least 3 times, but just didn't move. Not sure if it was his car or whether or not he was just busy, but as my wife was hanging around and getting a bit impatient, I kind of had to just take the shot and be happy! lol! Oh well.....I did think about colour popping it, but I am not a BIG fan of it, so wanted to get some of the colour to stand out against a "normal" image. I exposed mainly for the Fiat, so think it worked. Glad you both like it! Appreciated! Smile

ah the old cinquecento, she is such a star, she loves to have pictures taken of her Smile
very well seen, red in between to black cars is also great, and i don't mind the man standing there either.
oh the shop behind is not a mobile phone shop, it is a furniture shop, mobile means furniture in italian

HI Raymond

I am not entirely sure what a SOOC shot is? Can you explain?
26 Nov 2010 1:28PM
SOOC means Straight Out Of a Cam..
no edit, no post processing. We commonly used this word here in the philippines. =)

i myself cant get a very nice SOOC. i usually end up, edit it. =(

very meaningful journalism photo to me.. keep it up

Sorry Raymojd, I haven't actually heard of that term before! Smile

As for it being SOOC....well, nearly! It has had a touch of levels and curves adjustment and a tiny bit of sharpening and vignette, but other than that, nothing else. No change in exposure or colours. Thats it. All digital images need a touch of editing, but I try and get it right in camera first before doing minimal editing really. Hope this helps?

yeah! we are on digital age. its a perfect photo for me. its like i just want to follow your concept in this photo. ill try to find a mini cooper here. =) thanks johhnyboy.

I had Fiat 600 hmmm and I miss that small miracle a lot. Great shot. The guy with the mobile and the shop mobil moda are great. In my language MOBIL means a car haha. Everything nicely connected.
