The Others

By TanyaH
Yes, it's a camera phone image (again Smile) and no, I haven't been very creative lately. Haven't picked up a 'proper' camera in what feels like months and lost mojo a bit. But hopefully new year, new creative surge - leastways, that's what I'm aiming for!

This is a mannequin head, by the way. Just the head - no body attached Wink I painted it years ago and it's sat around for yonks, so I thought I'd finally do something with it.

Happy New Year, by the way - belated, I know, but hey ... the thought's there Grin

Happy New Year Tanya.
Sometimes ideas dry up and the more you try and make the effort the less creative you get. Then suddenly it comes together.

This has reminded me of a zombie film I caught the end of flicking through the channels over Christmas Grin

Thanks Smile Ripping out the kitchen and having building work done over the christmas period isn't one I'd recommend to anyone ... causes a lot more stress than ever expected! Still, someone else fed us on Christmas day which was a bonus - because we certainly weren't able to cook anything Sad

I have been on the look-out for a mannequin of my own for years, I am furiously envious.
I am guessing that a lot of people felt like this on Sunday morning...
Happy New Year and I hope you get the house sorted soon.

The one visible eye really adds to the dark and intimidating atmosphere of her look, Tanya. The true stuff of nightmares...just when you thought it was safe to sleep with the light off again...

Thanks Malc - I'm good at scaring people in the night Grin

At the risk of being boring, she's actually not that scary ... she even used to have false eyelashes, but one fell off a while back and it seemed a bit weird with one on, one off.

So I removed the remaining spidery thing and now she's bare-lidded ... like a night-lizard ... Wink

A wonderful Alien looking image Tanya and great to see more of your creativity even if it is a past masterpiece of yours. Excellent.

A very happy new year to you too.

What a great creepy picture, it's brilliant! I love it when people have 'stuff' in their house, I'd live in Steptoes house if I could.Smile

LOL Grin And a very happy new seasonal thingy to you too, Dave!

Yes, my home is full of crap waiting to be photographed in an interestingly creative way, yes so far the year has been a lovely one and no, the bloody kitchen's not finished yet!

Kitchen not finished yet Nooooooooo.........!Sad Still, who cares, as long as you can still knock out pictures like this, borrow the neighbours kitchen, I'm sure they won't mind. Or maybe, put this head outside one of their windows, frighten the living you know what out of them into leaving, then take over their place until yours is done, There, easy, problem solved!!!GrinGrinGrin And yes, I think I need my medication again, just so pleasd to have you back here in the virtual asylum.Wink

Aye, I've missed this particular virtual asylum and its rather unique inhabitants!
And thank you also for your user award ... didn't realise you liked the image that much!
Or you're just being kind to an ageing welder from oop north ... Wink

Talking about crap waiting to be photographed (which we weren't really, but never mind) this'll make you laugh ... when the plasterers came back, one of them hadn't disposed of the rather large lump of plaster on the large flat trowel thingy they use. So there was this stiff lump of stuff just sitting there, looking all raggedy and interesting ... so I asked him what he was going to do with it and he said "chuck it, why?". So I kind of asked him if I could have it instead of binning it ... and it's now drying nicely in my airing cupboard. The plasterers now think I'm bonkers, but who cares eh?! I'll use it for something, sometime ...

Nah, it's just a really, really good creepy picture! Grin

Just read part two, and what else would you do with congealing plaster except stash it for a rainy day when it may come in handy! Grin Maybe as 'The Blob from Outer Bucks', or 'Revenge of the Mortar from Mars' or maybe 'The Return of the Pink Plaster'.......I think I had better stop now and go and lay down for a bit!Grin
