Have you ever heard of Rev Gilbert White FRS (18 July 1720 – 26 June 1793) a pioneering English naturalist, ecologist and ornithologist. He was Vicar of Selborne, Hampshire ?
Just the opposite of Sulivan Black, one suspects.
I did not get the joke either, at the time I spotted the Plaque.BlushBlushBlush
