The Pinking Machine

By chase
I went shopping Blush
First time for about 6 months, I had great fun in the Antiques centre close by and errrrrr... collected a few things, one of which is this pinking machine.
It's a Hannum Pinking Machine, patented Nov.2nd 1897 and it's gorgeous.

An HDR image, 3 frames each 1 stop apart, combined in Lightroom, finished in Photoshop.
Lit with one small, handheld LED light sort of towards the back from the topish...Wink

Yep, another dark image but that's kinda my favourite way to be.

The other bits, well they will have their own space in due course.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.

I beg, steal ( not really ) or borrow lots of stuff Arne but my main source is a huge antiques centre about 15 miles away from my home. It's not cheap but they have some cracking stuff, I could and have in the past, spend hours just walking round looking for all manner of things.

Took me all of Oooo at least 2 minutes before the camera was switched on for a few test frames..... 2 minutes too long Wink

A complete change to a more "imdustrial" theme in a suitably dark setting, relieved by the gold yellow cloth.
As usual beautifully chosen arranged and lit. Great Image!

I am assuming this great big chunk of metal does the same as pinking shears do today? It is certainly very industrial, and as such your signature dark processing certainly couldn't be better.

Beautifully lit and processed, the gold standing out in the dark makes it

I guess so Malc although not quite as efficient. The cutter thingy is wiggly, so I wonder if it was used to cut lace kind of patterns and effects.

Thanks everyone.

Cool! Every cut can be an unexpected delight or disappointment. Better than boring, predictable identical cuts every time.Wink

Love it, Janet! A beautiful presentation, and making me fancy a trip uptown to our local antique centre to see what's on offer! 😃 We did have a Camera Club visit there back in 2017 in the early evening after they'd closed to the public, which was interesting and got a few good shots, though only in situ, of course! 👍

Well set up Janet - the angle of the two handles enhance the shape in the frame. Super image.
