The Poppy Field

Morning All,

Big thanks to all those that commented & voted on my Chaser. Big thx to Angi for the GEA and to MikeRC & HarrietH for the user awards, very much appreciated.

Wonderful sunny weather at the Severn Valley Railway yesterday and whilst on the train I spotted a field full of poppies. Mid afternoon the wife & I left Bewdley station and found a pub for a thirst quenching drink and I got chatting (as I do, and all those that know me will vouch for that!) to a couple on the next table. I asked about the poppy field I has seen and how far it was from there...he said about a 25 min walk on level ground. Deb suffers with arthritus but was up for the walk so we took it easy and got to the place as directed...only to find it wasn't the field we saw! Still a poppy field it was an I was happy to see it !!

Back on the train a bit later we passed the field and the wife noted a small tunnel in the corner of that field...which if we had gone through in the field we found we would have come out in the right place....arrrrgh.

Nice to see some poppies, Al!

Good use of a shallow depth here, I reckon.
Perhaps a little more contrast for the in-focus area wouldn't hurt?
Just to separate it a little more from the background/blurred stuff...

Er...maybe! Wink

I see we are both chasing the elusive diferent poppy image. Similar points of focus too, good luck with o=your effort lloks good tome in the portrait format.

I can sympathise with your missus Deb I get Arthiritis to and no way could I walk for 25 mins and hope to get back whence I started, good supportive lady and I am sure you appreciate the effort made. Love the picture presented tell Debs to take a day off nowWink

this weekend i passed loads of fields with poppies looked so abundent I wanted to stop, normally when you get close they look so sparse so kept going, I like to see poppies in the fields, I like the simple composition of this

Never seen as many poppies around us as they are this year I stop yesterday by a fields for 10mins and took 80 shots !!!! I hope i get a few as good as yours Wink
