The Red Cliffs

By Wireworkzzz
Redcliffe was named after these red cliffs. When the tide comes in the beach is inaccessible. The shoreline is covered in volcanic rock which was formed up to 25 million years ago. The red cliffs are rich in iron and the local aboriginal tribe (known as the red ochre people) used it to paint themselves. There are also patches of white clay in the cliffs which they used as a mosquito repellant.

Thankyou to everyone for their interest in Old Wax Matches. I have not been able to post since then due to a 10 day loss of the internet.
