Think I preferred the first version Janet. I suppose it depends how we perceive different versions of the same image. This one would look great i think at a Whitby Steampunk festival or similar, it has that sharp and gritty edge. I like it very much but the earlier one was softer for me and had nicely balanced muted colours. Love the little Kodak Autographic camera!

I think in this version, the effects have overtaken the content slightly too much. There's a lack of detail on the clock innards on the right, which I feel is better in the original colour version.
For overall effect, this works well, but for studying closer, then the colour is preferable...
But as you rightly say, you have to experiment with new toys, anything else just isn't fun.
