The Response in winter

By mrswoolybill
Newcastle's memorial to the city's dead of the Great War. Strange as it may seem now, the snow came just a few weeks ago.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Interesting with the snow on it, Moira.

Strange weather for this time of the year as the sun is out and we're promised temperatures of about +14 C today.

Quote:And of course the Generals were leading from behind Wink

Field Generals suffered the highest pro-rata casualty rate of any rank in the Great War. From our joint memory, four were killed at the battle of Loos alone. It was the staff officers who got the bad reputation...
Cheers folks, and good morning.

Another fine capture of this memorial, Moira, and yes, how different the weather is less than a month later, it's like summer! 👍
